O hai there. Man, I've had such a stressful few weeks, and I haven't really felt like doing anything... significant, like writing or what have you. Had a scare about getting my loan for the new school year, had to run around in circles dealing with financial aid, just finished my first week of classes. Trying to get settled.

Anyway, I would love to get a little help from you guys, if you're willing. There are auditions for a big-deal showcase for singers on Monday, and I'm trying to figure out what to sing. Basically, about a hundred or so singers audition (and this is a music school I go to), and they take eight. So I've gotta be as good as I can be.

So, I have two choices and one maybe lined up (more for a potential second song choice if I make callbacks). I'd really appreciate some feedback about which sounds the best:

I made these recordings a little more than a year ago, and I'm much more comfortable with the last note of Home (and have more control over my vibrato) than before, but that's about all that's changed. I'm leaning toward Think, but they're judging dynamics, too, and Think is... loud and louder. Home has a bigger build. I like Rainbow as a contrasting style, potentially, but that requires me to make callbacks.

IDK, I'd just really appreciate some thoughts if you have time.

In fandom news, I have a lot of stuff piling up that I've been too stressed to want to work on. I'd still like to get the femslash-a-thon going, but I feel that it's only fair that I write something to kick it off, and I just haven't been able to get anything out. Hopefully things'll settle down and I'll get back in the writing swing again.

Today's my birthday, whoo! Finally twenty. I really don't post in this thing enough.

I had a weird random thought, since yuri tends to be so underrepresented in fandom, that I might make a post listing every possible girl/girl pairing in the Ace Attorney-verse and invite people to get together and try to write drabbles for as many of them as possible. Any interest?

So I finally hit ten fics for the Phoenix Wright Kink Meme, and I'm thinking I ought to index them here. Especially since I can't post smut on ff.net and I'd like to have all my fic in one place. So I'll probably be moving my stuff from other fandoms over here shortly.

Boy, I'm really enjoying the Phoenix Wright kinkmeme -- there's kink and crack and fluff and it's become this monstrous, awesome thing. I've written two fics for it so far (one fluffy and one I-can't-believe-I-wrote-that kinky); I've made one cracktastic request that's likely to go unanswered, so I'm waiting for Part Two to go up so that I can request me some femslash. :)

And God, I apparently can't shut up. One fic was over 2,000 words, the other over 1,500. There was a time when everything I wrote was like 300-600 words. Now, when that would be useful, that particular trait seems to have deserted me.

Also, I definitely need smut practice and smut critique. But due to the creepy-wrongness of the pairing, I'd really rather not admit I wrote that one.

Got in under the wire, and it's already kicking my ass. I've got a vague idea, but I'm not sure how to manage serious subject matter while keeping a lighthearted tone. Also, I have some research to do.

I really hope my Yuletide writer doesn't hate femslash. Um, if you're reading this, I'm not big on sex scenes. They're fine if the story's headed that direction, but don't feel obligated to include them. Kissing, casual touches, and fond looks are good for me. And my first and third request could be dark or angsty, if that's your thing. Also, feel free to include other characters and pairings, femslash, slash, or het. Subplots are fun.

Not trying to control your muse, just giving suggestions. I like to think of Yuletide as a chance to get something written that no one would consider writing otherwise.
